French Refugee Council on regular basis distributes bags of Food & Hygiene products to asylum seekers and refugees in France with aim to raise awareness on the situation of Refugees throughout the world particularly in France where hundreds of asylum seekers and refugees are sleeping in the tents or on the streets throughout France, particularly in the capital city Paris. These vulnerable individuals are living in an inhumane and substandard conditions, facing lack of shelter, sanitation, food and clean drinking water in the varying temperatures.

Professional workshops on access to employment
French Refugee Council holds integration workshop for refugees at various locations.These workshops give adult refugees and immigrants better possibilities to becoming a productive part of the the host society. These workshop focuses on an overview of French job market and workplace culture, employment opportunities, language training and one-on one support to identify career goal and job strategy in France.

Professional Trainers
The workshops are conducted by professional employment trainers and the training modules are designed based on regular meetings that are held by different recruiting agencies. Bilateral meetings are held with different companies and commercial brands throughout the country to identify these employers’ requirements and entry points for employment of refugees.

Connecting Refugee with employer
In addition to offering workshops on accessing employment opportunities for refugees in the host country, FRC also connects refugees with employment service providers and gives them the right information regarding job opportunities in France. FRC makes available to refugees in the program all employment related information such as language trainings, resume writing, and job interview preparation etc.

Connecting refugees with French Nationals through language training
TEACH A REFUGEE is an initiative that connects local citizens with asylum seekers and refugees through languages classes. Since 2013, French Refugee Council has helped hundreds of asylum seekers and refugees find French language tutor all over France who offer language classes at home, at schools, at parks or online in case a physical location is not possible. Teach a Refugee program on one hand helps refugees learn French language without any fee and on the other the initiative aims at removing cultural gaps and all other negative perspectives on refugees in the country by presenting their talents and competences. Since 2013, the initiative has helped more than 1361 immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers as well as unaccompanied minors have found French language teachers. The demand for French class is made through FRC website, then their demand is communicated to our volunteers based on the location the demand is made

French Refugee Council is working with active and dedicated volunteer groups who offer free languages classes on regular basis to asylum seekers, refugees and immigrants all over France. Our volunteers in addition to offering French classes, also offer practical help with applications and other official appointments. The beneficiaries of the program are from different nationalities such as Afghanistan, Congo, Eritrea, Iraq, Nigeria, Syria, Somalia and Sudan who learn to communicate independently in going shopping, get information or attend doctor appointments.
395 candidates from Afghanistan (60 women and 335 men) have been enrolled in the program.
275 candidates from Somalia (180 women and 95 men) have been enrolled in the program.
190 candidates from Sudan (90 women and 100 men) have been enrolled in the program.
175 candidates from Sudan (33 women and 142 men) have been enrolled in the program.
110 candidates from Eritrea (54 women and 56 men) have been enrolled in the program.
93 candidates from Nigeria (55 women and 38 men) have been enrolled in the program.
67 candidates from Iraq (22 women and 45 men) have been enrolled in the program.
55 candidates from Tibet (30 women and 25 men) have been enrolled in the program.
ASYLUM SEEKERS & REFUGEES ACCOMPANIMENT
Asylum Seekers & Refugees Accompaniment
FRC on daily basis help asylum seekers and refugees in their asylum and other administrative procedure and provide legal assistance. We have dozens of volunteer interprets and social workers who accompany asylum seekers and refugees in different French institutions and provide practical support with their administrative applications. Our dedicated social assistance team help asylum seekers with their demand to asylum in France and help them complete their OFPRA file and other administrative process. To ensure the privacy of each asylum seeker assisted by the program, each of our social assistant follows a strict code of ethics and a term of reference.

Free translation services for asylum seekers
Asylum support translation
FRC provide free translation support to asylum seeker and refugees with no financial help from the State to get their documents for the support of their asylum claim translated by sworn translators.
Interpretation services for administrative procedures
Our volunteers provide free interpretation services for asylum seekers and refugees during their administrative procedures all over France.

In the last three years, and especially since the dismantling of the famous Calais jungle, hundreds asylum seekers camp outside in the street of Paris. Their situation determines their administrative procedures

Helping Refugee with their daily administrative procedures
FRC connects asylum seekers and refugees to a range of services such as mental health counseling, employment services, assistance securing housing, mentorship, and extended cultural orientation.

Integration Workshop for New-Arrivals
FRC holds integration workshop for refugees and immigrants from Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri-Lanka, Somalia, Sudan at various locations. These workshops give adult refugees and immigrants better possibilities to becoming a productive part of the the host society.

Transforming memory into Art
FRC conducts regular art workshops with asylum seekers and refugees at various camps and reception centers in France and have brought together many refugee artists that are rarely encouraged to or get a chance to interact with other volunteer artists in the host country.
